§ 2-01 Introduction and Applicability.

RCNY § 2-01

All owners of fossil fuel burning boilers and water heaters that require a registration and have heat input equal to or greater than 2.8 million BTU/hour but less than 4.2 million BTU/hour or require a certificate of operation under the New York City Air Pollution Control Code, as codified in Chapter 1 of Title 15 of the New York City Administrative Code, are subject to these rules. In order for a registration or work permit to be issued an application must be filed and accompanied by plans and any additional information that may be requested by the department. The application will enable the department to evaluate the design of equipment installation for compliance with the specification requirements described in 15 RCNY § 2-11. Upon issuance of a registration or work permit, the equipment shall be installed and adjusted to meet the performance requirements specified in 15 RCNY § 2-08.
