What is NYC FGC § 503.5.6.5?

Quick Answer

This section mandates that a smoke test be conducted to identify any faults or leaks, which must be corrected. The test must be witnessed by a representative of the commissioner, although exceptions allow for certain tests to be performed under the supervision of a permit-holder without such oversight. Applies to building owners conducting alterations requiring smoke tests.
