406.1.5 Regulators and valve assemblies.

FGC § 406.1.5

Regulator and valve assemblies fabricated independently of the piping system in which they are to be installed shall be permitted to be tested with inert gas or air at the time of fabrication. Such regulators and valve assemblies shall not be subjected to the testing requirements of Section 406.4. Spool pieces shall be installed in place for the test. The regulators and valve assemblies not subjected to the pressure test shall be checked with a noncorrosive leak-detecting fluid or other approved leak-detecting methods.
