§ 21-1005 Opioid overdose prevention.

AC § 21-1005

a. Definitions. For purposes of this section, the following terms have the following meanings: Opioid antagonist. The term “opioid antagonist” has the same meaning as set forth in section 3309 of the public health law. School building. The term “school building” means any facility that is leased by the department or over which the department has care, custody, and control, in which there is a public school. b. The department shall stock opioid antagonists in all school buildings with school nurses assigned and consistent with section 3309 of the public health law. c. No later than September 30, 2024, and annually thereafter, the department shall submit to the mayor and the speaker of the council a report that shall include, for the prior school year: 1. The number of school buildings stocked with at least 1 opioid antagonist kit; and 2. The number of instances that an opioid antagonist from such stocked kit was administered to an individual in a school building. (L.L. 2024/002, 1/6/2024, eff. 3/6/2024)
