§ 15-215 Tampering with automatic sprinkler systems.

AC § 15-215

a. It shall be unlawful for any person to tamper with a system of automatic sprinklers in any building or occupancy by damaging such a system or otherwise preventing it from properly functioning. b. It shall be unlawful for any person to tamper with a system of automatic sprinklers in any building or occupancy by causing such a system to activate or otherwise release its fire extinguishing agent when there is no fire condition or other public safety consideration requiring such activation or release. c. Nothing contained in this section shall be construed to make unlawful any maintenance or inspection of a system of automatic sprinklers by any person acting with the authorization of the owner of the building or occupancy, when such person possesses such permits, licenses or certifications as may be required to perform such maintenance and inspection. d.
