BC § 907.2.7.1

Group M occupancies having a total gross area exceeding 100,000 square feet (9290.3 m 2 ) located in buildings where the highest occupied floor is 75 feet (22 860 mm) or less above the lowest level of Fire Department vehicle access and covered mall buildings having a total gross area exceeding 50,000 square feet (4645.2 m 2 ) shall be provided with automatic smoke detection connected to an automatic fire alarm system in accordance with Section 907.2.13.1 and an emergency voice/alarm communication system in accordance with Section 907.5.2.2 initiating a total evacuation signal.
