722.4.1.2 Plaster finishes.

BC § 722.4.1.2

Where plaster is applied to the wall, the total fire-resistance rating shall be determined by the formula: R = (R n0.59 + pl) 1.7 (Equation 7-9) where: R = The fire-resistance of the assembly (hours). R n = The fire-resistance of the individual wall (hours). pl = Coefficient for thickness of plaster. Values for R n0.59 for use in Equation 7-9 are given in Table 722.4.1(3). Coefficients for thickness of plaster shall be selected from Table 722.4.1(4) based on the actual thickness of plaster applied to the wall or partition and whether one or two sides of the wall are plastered.
