5705.3.1 Closure of mixing or blending vessels.

FC § 5705.3.1

Vessels used for mixing or blending of flammable liquids and combustible liquids at a temperature higher than 20°F (11°C) less than their flash points shall be provided with self-closing, tight-fitting, noncombustible lids that will control a fire within such vessel. Exception: Where such devices are determined by the commissioner to be impractical, a fire extinguishing system shall be provided.
