FC § 5705.2.4

Class I and II liquids or Class III liquids in containers exceeding 5.3 gallons (20 L) capacity that are at a temperature higher than 20°F (11°C) less than their flash points shall not be dispensed by gravity, but shall be transferred by one of the following methods: 1. From safety cans complying with the requirements of UL 30.

2.Through an approved closed piping system.

3.From containers or tanks by an approved pump taking suction through an opening in the top of the container or tank.

4.Approved engineered liquid transfer systems.
