5307.5 Carbon dioxide detection and alarm systems.

FC § 5307.5

All carbon dioxide beverage dispensing systems shall be equipped with a carbon dioxide detection and alarm system in accordance with the rules. Such a system shall be installed in the room or other area in which the carbon dioxide storage containers are installed and any other room or area in which carbon dioxide could accumulate, and shall activate an alarm in such room or area, outside the entrance to such room or area and such other locations that the department may prescribe by rule. Exceptions: 1. Any aboveground room or area provided with continuous mechanical ventilation system designed to exhaust carbon dioxide to a safe outdoor location. Such mechanical ventilation shall be designed to operate at a negative pressure in relation to the surrounding area; provide ventilation at a rate of not less than 1 cubic foot per minute per square foot (0.00508 m 3/(s.m2)); and take exhaust from a point within 12 inches (305 mm) of the floor.

2.Any room or area provided with a gas detection system in accordance with FC 908.
