FC § 5005.1.5

Where mechanical ventilation, treatment systems, temperature control, alarm, detection or other electrically operated systems are required, such systems shall be provided with an emergency power system in accordance with the Electrical Code, the construction codes, including the Building Code, and FC 604. Exception: Systems for highly toxic or toxic gases provided with emergency power in accordance with FC 6004.2.2.8 and 6004.3.2.6.
