BC § 406.9.7.3

Open parking lots operating between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. shall be adequately illuminated to a minimum of 1 footcandle measured at grade level, distributed over the entire area. Illumination provided with reflectors or floodlights shall be arranged such that the illumination is directed downward and away from adjacent premises.
