3314.4.5.2 Training for supported scaffold users.
BC § 3314.4.5.2
Individuals who use a supported scaffold, including the person supervising such, shall, at a minimum, have completed a department-approved training program or course that is at least 4 hours long and, every four years thereafter, retake the 4-hour training program or course. Exceptions: 1. Employees of a public utility performing work while using a supported scaffold, including the person supervising such, provided that such employees are trained to be able to recognize the hazards associated with the type of supported scaffold being used and to understand the procedures to control those hazards.
2.A registered design professional who has not completed the training may use a supported scaffold to perform inspections provided the registered design professional does not perform construction, maintenance, repair, or demolition work from the scaffold.
3.The use of a stair tower/scaffold stairway/scaffold stair tower that is not connected to a scaffold work platform and is dedicated to providing temporary ingress or egress to the building or structure.
