BC § 3314.10.3

Outrigger beams shall be placed perpendicular to the face of the building or structure. Exception: Where a licensed rigger or registered design professional can demonstrate to the commissioner's satisfaction that it is not possible to place an outrigger beam perpendicular to the face of the building or structure, the outrigger beam may be placed at a different angle, provided opposing angle tiebacks are used.
