3305.2.3 Repair of damage.

BC § 3305.2.3

Any damage to protective coatings shall be repaired prior to the application of fireproofing, the placement of concrete around the steel, or any other action that would otherwise conceal the steel. Any loss of section, bends, crimps or other evidence of permanent deformations shall be repaired by methods approved by the registered design professional of record or the piece shall be rejected.
