What is NYC BC § 2606.7.1?

Quick Answer

This section mandates that light-transmitting plastic diffusers be supported from ceiling or roof construction using noncombustible hangers, specifically No. 12 steel-wire gauge or equivalent. An exception is provided for diffusers used in suspended acoustical ceiling systems, which must follow different support requirements. Applies to building owners installing light-transmitting diffusers.
