1812.6.4.1 Seismic reinforcement.

BC § 1812.6.4.1

Where a structure is assigned to Seismic Design Category C or D in accordance with Section 1613, minimum reinforcement no less than 0.01 times the cross-sectional area of the concrete within the concrete-filled steel pipe and tube piles shall be provided in the top of the concrete-filled steel pipe and tube piles with an embedment length equal to two times the required cap embedment anchorage into the pile cap, but not less than the tension development length of the reinforcement. The wall thickness of the steel pipe shall not be less than 3/16 inch (4.8 mm).
