§ 17-168.2 Newborn home visiting program.

a. Definitions. For purposes of this section the following terms have the following meanings: Newborn home visiting program. The term “newborn home visiting program” means a program administered by the department that provides in-person and virtual home visits from social workers, nurses, and lactation professionals for new parents during the first 12 weeks after the birth of a child at no cost to such parents. Priority neighborhood. The term “priority neighborhood” means a neighborhood determined by the department to experience significant health and socioeconomic disparities. b. Program. The commissioner shall maintain a newborn home visiting program. No later than December 1, 2028, the department shall make such program available in 75 percent of priority neighborhoods and no later than December 1, 2030, the department shall make such program available in 100 percent of priority neighborhoods.
