§ 60A-28 Vehicle – Markings and Advertising.

(a)Vehicle Specifications and Markings. A Vehicle Owner must comply with the markings specifications for Paratransit Vehicles. 35 RCNY § 60A-28(a)Fine: $50Appearance NOT required (b) Remove Markings Before Selling. A Vehicle Owner is responsible for removing all official markings when selling or disposing of a Paratransit Vehicle, unless the Owner obtains Commission approval in approved transfers. 35 RCNY § 60A-28(b)Fine: $100Appearance NOT required (c) Required ID Marking. A Valid Commission decal must be attached to the Vehicle in a plainly visible location when a License is granted, renewed, or whenever else a new decal is required. The Commission can require the vehicle to be presented at a Commission facility so that Commission staff can attach the decal. The Vehicle Owner must also put the company name, trade name and other vehicle identification markings required by the Commission or New York State Law. 35 RCNY § 60A-28(c)Fine: $50Appearance NOT required (d) Commercial Use Tax Stamp. A Vehicle Owner must attach a commercial use motor vehicle tax stamp to the lower right side of the Vehicle windshield, so that it is plainly visible. 35 RCNY § 60A-28(d)Fine: $25Appearance NOT required (e) Unauthorized Advertising. A Vehicle Owner may not display advertising on the exterior or interior of a Paratransit Vehicle unless the Vehicle Owner has first obtained Commission authorization. 35 RCNY § 60A-28(e)Fine: $50Appearance NOT required (f) Required Sticker. Each Paratransit vehicle must display an internal safety sticker, with the following inscription: "Turning? People are Crossing." The dimensions of the sticker are 3.5 inches wide by 2.5 inches high. The sticker must be obtained pursuant to the instructions on the Commission's website or through other appropriate means announced on the website. The sticker must be placed in the Vehicle as follows: (1) On the inside of the front windshield, in the center and adjacent to the top of the windshield directly behind the rearview mirror.

(2)In such a manner not to obstruct the driver's view. 35 RCNY § 60A-28(f)(1) and (2)Fine: $75Appearance NOT REQUIRED (g) Optional Sticker. Paratransit vehicles may display an optional external sticker, with the following inscription: "The choices you make behind the wheel matter." The dimensions of the sticker are 15 inches wide by 4 inches wide. The sticker may be obtained pursuant to the instructions on the Commission's website or through other appropriate means announced on the website. If displayed, the sticker must be placed on the Vehicle as follows: (1) On the rear bumper of the vehicle.

(h)Required Sticker. Each Paratransit Vehicle must display an internal safety sticker, with the following inscription: "ATTENTION: Assaulting A Driver Is Punishable By Up to Twenty-Five Years in Prison." The dimensions of the sticker are 8.0 inches wide by 2.0 inches high. The sticker must be obtained pursuant to the instructions on the Commission's website or through other appropriate means announced on the website. The sticker must be placed in the Vehicle as follows: (1) In a frame on the passenger seat headrest. 35 RCNY § 60A-28(h)(1)Fine: $50 if plead guilty before a hearing, $75 if found guilty following a hearingAppearance NOT REQUIRED (i) Optional Sticker. Each Paratransit Vehicle may display an external safety sticker, with the following inscription: "Taxi and Limousine Drivers Are Protected By New York State Law ATTENTION: Assaulting A Driver Is Punishable By Up to Twenty-Five Years in Prison." The dimensions of the sticker are 3.5 inches wide by 3.5 inches high. The sticker may be obtained pursuant to the instructions on the Commission's website or through other appropriate means announced on the website. The sticker must be placed in the Vehicle as follows: (1) Exterior, on a door or a side window.

(j)Required Decal. Each Paratransit Vehicle with Hearing Induction Loop capability must display a Hearing Induction Loop Decal. The decal will feature the International Symbol of Access for Hearing Loss, described as the profile of an ear with a wide diagonal line running from the bottom left to the top right. The symbol contrast shall be light on dark or dark on light. A "T" will be placed in the lower right-hand corner of the decal.
