§ 5-05 Youthful Inmates.

RCNY § 5-05

(a)Any inmate under the age of 18 shall not be placed in a housing unit in which the inmate under the age of 18 will have sight, sound, or physical contact with any inmate 18 years old or more through use of a shared dayroom or other common space, shower area, or sleeping quarters.

(b)In areas outside of housing units, the Department shall either: (1) Maintain sight and sound separation between any inmate under the age of 18 and any inmate 18 years old or more, or (2) Provide direct staff supervision when any inmate under the age of 18 and any inmate 18 years old or more have sight, sound, or physical contact.
