§ 12-01 Definitions.

RCNY § 12-01

For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms have the following meanings: (a) "Access-A-Ride" means the paratransit program operated by the New York City Transit Authority (NYCT) for people whose disabilities prevent them from riding NYCT's fixed-route bus and subway systems.

(b)"DSS/HRA" means the New York City Department of Social Services / Human Resources Administration.

(c)"Fair Fares NYC Conditions of Use" or "Conditions of Use" means the terms and conditions that an applicant must accept and agree to be bound by before receiving a Fair Fares discount pursuant to DSS/HRA's Memorandum of Understanding with the New York City Transit Authority.

(d)"Fair Fares NYC discount" or "FF discount" means the discount for eligible individuals on designated travel options pursuant to the program established by this chapter.

(e)"Fair Fares NYC" or "Program" means the program established pursuant to this chapter to provide a 50% discount on designated transit options.

(f)"FPL" means the federal poverty level as established annually by the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

(g)"NYCT" means the MTA New York City Transit Authority, established pursuant to Title 9 of Article 5 of the New York of the New York State Public Authorities Law.

(h)"Participant" means an individual who is currently enrolled in the Program. (Added City Record 12/27/2019, eff. 1/26/2020; amended City Record 9/30/2020, eff. 10/30/2020)
