108.3.1 New, altered, extended or repaired installations.

FGC § 108.3.1

New installations and parts of existing installations that have been altered, extended, renovated or repaired, shall be tested as prescribed herein to disclose leaks and defects. Exceptions: 1. A gas test shall not be required when an existing gas appliance is replaced, provided that (i) no gas piping is replaced upstream of the existing appliance shutoff valve and (ii) not more than 6 feet (1828.8 mm) of pipe is installed or replaced downstream of the existing appliance shutoff valve.

2.A gas test shall not be required when gas is reestablished by a utility company as permitted under section 28-105.4.1 of the Administrative Code.
