722.2.2.4 Joints in precast slabs.

BC § 722.2.2.4

Joints between adjacent precast concrete slabs need not be considered in calculating the slab thickness provided that a concrete topping not less than 1 inch (25.4 mm) thick is used. Where no concrete topping is used, joints must be grouted to a depth of not less than one-third the slab thickness at the joint, but not less than 1 inch (25.4 mm), or the joints must be made fire resistant by other approved methods.
