5704.2.7.4 Emergency venting.

FC § 5704.2.7.4

Aboveground tanks shall be equipped with additional venting that will relieve excessive internal pressure caused by exposure to fires. Emergency vents shall not discharge indoors. The venting shall be installed and maintained in accordance with NFPA 30. Exception: Tanks storing Class IIIB liquids that are larger than 12,000 gallons (45420 L) in capacity, located outdoors and not within the diked area or the drainage path of Class I or II liquids, do not require emergency relief venting.
