3503.4.1 Torch operations.

FC § 3503.4.1

Any torch operation, including torch operations using a flammable gas, with or without oxygen, and any torch operation for torch-applied roofing systems, shall be personally conducted by a certificate of fitness holder. Exceptions: 1. Torch operations using oxygen and piped natural gas for manufacturing jewelry or in a dental laboratory may be conducted under the personal supervision of a certificate of fitness holder, who shall be responsible to regulate the pressure and flow of oxygen and natural gas to each torch.

2.Torch operation fueled by a LPG container with a capacity of 16.4 ounces (0.465 kg) or less, except at a construction site.

3.Arc welding authorized by the Department of Buildings.
