BC § 3314.6.4

Loads from supported and suspended scaffolds imposed on an existing roof or floor or similar structure shall: 1. Not be concentrated so as to cause stresses in excess of the allowable values designated for the applicable material described in this code; or 2. Be distributed with dunnage or shoring so as to prevent such load from exceeding the allowable values designated for the applicable material described in this code.
