2308.6.8.2 Floor and roof diaphragm support in Seismic Design Category D.

BC § 2308.6.8.2

In structures assigned to Seismic Design Category D, floor and roof diaphragms shall be laterally supported by braced wall lines on all edges and connected in accordance with Section 2308.6.7 (see Figure 2308.6.8.2(1)). Exception: Portions of roofs or floors that do not support braced wall panels above are permitted to extend up to 6 feet (1829 mm) beyond a braced wall line (see Figure 2308.6.8.2(2)) provided that the framing members are connected to the braced wall line below in accordance with Section 2308.6.7.
