What is NYC BC § 1601.2.1?

Quick Answer

This section allows the use of the current building code for structural calculations on buildings constructed under earlier codes, provided that structural safety is maintained. It specifies that Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) calculations do not compromise safety if existing material properties are verified. Applies to building owners using older building codes.
