Anchored terra cotta or ceramic units not less than 1 inch (25.4 mm) thick shall be anchored directly to masonry, concrete or stud construction. Terra cotta or ceramic unit anchorage shall be engineered to transfer loads to stable backup walls utilizing not less than two non-corrosive anchors per unit.
