1029.15.3 Mid-aisle termination.

BC § 1029.15.3

Mid-aisle handrails shall not extend beyond the lowest riser and shall terminate within 18 inches (457.2 mm), measured horizontally, from the lowest riser. Handrail extensions are not required. Exception: Mid-aisle handrails shall be permitted to extend beyond the lowest riser where the handrail extensions do not obstruct the width of the cross aisle.
