BC § 1029.13.1.3

Ramped aisles shall have edge protection in accordance with Section 1012.10 and 1012.10.1. Exception: In assembly spaces with fixed seating, edge protection is not required on the sides of ramped aisles where the ramped aisles provide access to the adjacent seating and aisle accessways.
