§ 207.21 Birth and Death Records to Be Public Records; Transfer to the Department of Records and Information Services.

RCNY § 207.21

Notwithstanding any other provision of this Code, a birth record in the Department's possession and control becomes a public record on January 31st of the year following 125 years after the date of birth and a death record in the Department's possession and control becomes a public record on January 31st of the year following 75 years after the date of death. The Department shall transfer to the City's department of records and information services all public birth records, death records, and index books. (Added City Record 3/19/2018, eff. 4/18/2018)
