§ 16-01 Definitions.

RCNY § 16-01

Except as otherwise provided, the definitions set forth in 52 RCNY § 1-02 apply in this chapter. In addition: "Ballot proposal" means any proposition, referendum, or other question submitted to New York City voters pursuant to the Charter, the New York Municipal Home Rule Law, or any other law. "Candidate print statement" means the document filed by a candidate containing biographical and other information requested by the Board, and a photograph of the candidate, for inclusion in the printed or online Voter Guide. "Candidate video statement" means a video-recorded statement by the candidate for inclusion in the video and online edition of the Voter Guide. "Election" means any election for the office of mayor, public advocate, comptroller, borough president, or Council member, or a general election in which a ballot proposal is on the ballot, and does not include any election held pursuant to court order. "Registered candidate" means an individual who has registered or filed a Certification with the Board pursuant to 52 RCNY § 2-01 or 52 RCNY § 2-02 and § 3-703 of the Code.
